粘土の塊を丹念に削り出し、織部釉を酸化焼成と還元焼成で幾度も焼き重ねる。
その焼成時間は、実に120時間を超える。

作品の芯に流れる血潮は、華やかな赤絵ではなく、重厚な鉄絵によって表現される。
この「鉄の赤」は、他のいかなる素材にも見られない、唯一無二の深紅である。

緑釉の緑と鉄絵の赤を対比させ、補色の関係をもって生命の躍動を描き出す。
このテーマにおいて、釉薬として最もふさわしいのは、やはり織部釉である。
織部釉のもつ深みと透明感は、生命の鼓動を伝えるうえで、比類なき表現力を発揮する。

Title: Forest (Oribe) Series　—

　Series I: Germination

​Carving away from a solid mass of clay, I apply green glaze through repeated cycles of oxidation and reduction firing—over a total of more than 120 hours.

The lifeblood flowing through the core of my work is not depicted with vivid overglaze red, but challenged instead through the profound hue of iron painting.
This red, born of iron, is deeper and more commanding than any other material could ever produce.

By contrasting the green of the glaze with the red of the iron—complementary colors in tension—I seek to express the essence of life itself.
For such a theme, the Oribe glaze proves most fitting.
Indeed, the Oribe glaze possesses a rare excellence—its depth and translucency breathe life into the clay.
